Kids Serve Up a Salad Bar
Tonight, let the kids be the chef with an at-home salad bar! After setting up the different veggies and toppings, they’ll keep coming back for more.
Activity: Create Your Own Salad Bar
Place various salad bar items, such as lettuce, peas, sliced carrots, mandarin oranges, grated cheese and these homemade dill croutons, in bowls on the counter. Have your kids create a menu of all the salad bar items for each member of the family, either writing the toppings down or drawing pictures. Have the children seat the adults at the table with a pencil and menu, and ask the parents to circle each item they want on their salad. The children then take the menus, make each salad, and serve their parents. Parents can also switch roles and play waiter/waitress for their children!
