Ingredients (11)
-
olive oil 1 tbsp.
-
ground beef 1 lb.
-
chili powder 1 tbsp.
-
ground cumin 1 tsp.
-
diced tomatoes 1 can (28 oz.)
-
kidney beans, drained and rinsed 1 can (15 oz.)
-
frozen french fries 1 bag (2 lb.)
-
shredded cheddar cheese 1 ½ cup
-
green onions, sliced, for garnish
Steps (5)
-
1
In a large pot set over medium high heat, add the oil. When hot, add the ground beef, breaking up with a wooden spoon.
-
2
Season with the chili powder, cumin and ranch seasoning mix, and cook, stirring, until the beef is cooked through, about 4–5 minutes. Add the diced tomatoes with the juice and cook, stirring, another 10–15 minutes, until slightly thickened. Stir in the beans and cook for another 5–10 minutes.
-
3
Meanwhile, spread the french fries on a foil- or parchment-lined baking sheet and cook according to package directions. Remove the pan of fries from the oven and make sure the temperature is at 400°F.
-
4
Spoon as much chili as desired over the fries, then top with the shredded cheddar. Return the fries to the oven.
-
5
Bake for 5–7 minutes or until cheese is melted. Remove from oven and drizzle with the Cheezy Ranch dressing. Garnish with green onions and serve immediately.
